China Central Music Conservatory (CCOM) will hold a series of performances and academic seminars to mark its 70th founding anniversary, which will fall on November 1.
Wang Cizhao, president of the CCOM, said here Wednesday that the school will invite graduates who have won their fame on the international stage to perform nearly 100 concerts for the anniversary.
The school will also invite delegates from domestic and overseas musical institutes to discuss music talent cultivation, Wang said.
"We have developed a unique way of talent cultivation, since we are giving high-quality music education at primary school age of our students," Wang said, noting that some well-known foreign musical schools from the United States, Britain, France and Russia are also interested in students in the primary school and middle school attached to the CCOM.
Students from the CCOM have scored more than 3,000 prizes in major competitions both in China and abroad over the past 70 years, said Guo Shulan, an official of the CCOM.
Famous alumni of the CCOM include pianist Lang Lang and composer Tan Dun.
