中央音乐学院主办的“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”，是以举办国际性高水平的音乐会、开设大师班和讲座作为主要形式的一个音乐节。它让多元多样的世界音乐，跨界音乐，现代原创音乐同时绽放魅力；让国际大师级艺术家和国内的优秀青年演奏家同时登台，用音乐展示不同的文化和思想。它是中央音乐学院创建的一个世界平台，它有社会各界的广泛关注与大力支持，它将被打造成为中国最优秀的室内乐音乐节和国际交流的艺术平台。

Sponsored by Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM), the mission of the "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" is to hold international high-level concerts, master classes and lectures. The festival presents a wide array of musical styles, including world music, crossover music and modern original music, and also assembles the international renowned artists and outstanding domestic young concert performers on the same stage to demonstrate different cultures and ideas via music. It is a international platform created by CCOM with wide-ranging interests and enjoys broad support from all corners of society. It is swiftly developing into the most excellent chamber music festival in China and an important artistic platform for international exchange.     

　　今年，音乐节欣然步入第九届。在学院各位院领导的大力支持下，越来越显现出其独树一帜的魅力。作为中央音乐学院年度重大活动项目之一，“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”一贯秉承其“接近完美、实现完美”的宗旨与作风，始终致力于室内乐艺术的推广和发展，在不断继承传统的基础上，勇于大胆创新、开拓革新。中央音乐学院钢琴系由熹教授于2008年首创该音乐节，并担任艺术总监至今。

This celebrates the festival’s nine year. With the dedicated support of President Wang Cizhao and all Conservatory leaders, it is increasingly demonstrating its unique appeal. As one of annual significant events of CCOM, the "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" always adheres to its mission to “strive for perfection - realize perfection", and devotes itself to promoting and developing the chamber music art by bold innovation, expansion and reform that is based in tradition. Prof. You Xi from the Department of Piano, CCOM, initiated this music festival in 2008, and has served as Art Director ever since.

The piano masters invited to the "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" have all been ranked on the list of the "World's Greatest Pianist Series in the 20th Century" - a set of "milestone" records published by Germany PolyGram Company in 2000. They include: Mr. Menahem Pressler, one of founders of Beaux Arts Trio and 6 time Grammy Award winner; Mr. Paul Badura-Skoda, the most authoritative interpreter of German and Austrian piano works and a famous pianist in Austria; Mr. Tamas Vasary, a renowned pianist of Hungary, former music director of Budapest Symphony Orchestra and the winner of first prize for Chopin Piano Competition; Mr. Vladimir Ashkenazy, the world famous pianist, conductor and 1st prize laureate of The Queen Elizabeth International Piano Competition, Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition and others. Additionally we have invited first class performers, educators and music groups from all over the world, such as, "Auer" String Quartet from Hungary, Haydn Quartets from Austria, Two Pianos and Percussion Combination from Poland, Military Band of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and Ensemble ConTempo Beijing, all of whom will deliver performances and give classes in the "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival". It is particularly worth mentioning that Mr. Menahem Pressler, a German pianist reputed as “cultural treasure of the music world", has been dedicated himself to performance and disc recording, and made the great achievement of over 7,000 concerts and 200 records in his lifetime until now. In 2010, he was invited to participate in the "Third CCOM International Chamber Music Festival". It was the first time that he has been to China and was his only performance in China until now. These masters left an unforgettable impression on their audiences by their elegant performance, deep understanding and interpretation of the music and their lifelong dedication to the musical arts.

　　在历时九年的发展与努力下，“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”从最初不到二百人的观众群，发展到今天每场音乐会都座无虚席的艺术盛宴；从始届只有三场音乐会到今天已成功举办了数十场高水准、高质量的音乐会，安排大师课与讲座二百余时；已邀请几十位为国内外著名专家、学者到音乐节交流演出。从一个只面向专业音乐人士的学术型音乐活动成长为一个面向社会各个阶层、每年可以引爆北京文化热点的文化盛事。我们不单纯演奏已经标榜史册、家喻户晓的室内乐，同时致力于挖掘那些优秀的、有内涵的当代作品，以深度剖析当代文化内核，传承弘扬民族德艺双馨的艺术追求为前提，来推广室内乐艺术。目前，“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”的舞台上已演出了几十部新作品，其中的一些作品是世界首演，使“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”逐年实现推广中国本民族音乐文化的计划。

Through nine years of development and effort, "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" has developed from its initial scale of three concerts and less than 200 attendees into an large scale festival with dozens of concerts and full houses at every event, The festival now has successfully held dozens of high-level and high-quality concerts, and arranged more than 200 hours of master lectures and classes. Dozens of famous experts and scholars at home and abroad have also been invited to conduct exchanges and performances in the music festival. Formerly more of an academic musical event limited to professional musicians, the festival has grown into a cultural event that speaks to all social stratums and and is considered a major yearly cultural event in Beijing. We do not merely perform the standard repertoire, but also devote ourselves to exploring many excellent modern works in order to deeply analyze the core of contemporary culture. Our goal is promote the chamber music art and use it this artistic pursuit for the benefit of other aspects of society. At present, dozens of new works have been shown on the stage of "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival", some of which are world premieres. This has facilitated the "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" to gradually achieve its plan of promoting China's national musical cultures. 

　　在历届“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”的日程中，我们亦有一项持续性强、水平高、朝气蓬勃的特殊系列音乐会——“琴缘”（Enchanted）。该系列音乐会为表演专业的学生们长期有计划地提供上台演奏室内乐的机会。对于缺乏合作经验的表演专业学生，这无疑是一个难得的机会。“琴缘”系列音乐会把“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”的演出和室内乐教学紧密联系在一起，在充分展现中央音乐学院新一代学子的高超技艺的同时也突显了室内乐教学的特点与要点——演奏专业学生先学会倾听自己的演奏，其次是听见别人，进而听见整体。“琴缘”系列音乐会的演奏人员包括来自中央音乐学院附小、附中、大学的获奖尖子生与青年教师们。组合形式多种多样，曲目选择广泛，是“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”中一场独具特色的系列音乐会。

As in previous sessions of "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival", we also continue to organize "Enchanted" - a special series concert with high standard and full of vigor and vitality. This series concert provides students with an opportunity to perform the chamber music at a high level in a professional setting. It is absolutely a rare opportunity for those students who lack this cooperative experience. The "Enchanted" series concert creates close connections between the performances of "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" and the teaching of chamber music. It not only fully demonstrates the superb skills of the new generation of CCOM students, but also highlights the essential features of chamber music teaching: students of performance major must first listen to their own performance, others and then the entirety. The performers of "Enchanted" series concert include top awarded students and young teachers from primary school, middle school and university affiliated to CCOM. With diversified combinations and wide-ranging program choices, it has been a unique series concert in the "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival".

　　室内乐艺术是欧洲古典音乐的精髓之一，它包罗万象、内容丰富，组合形式多样，编制伸缩性极大，能够在最大程度上展现全世界各国与各民族文化的精粹。随着当代我国经济、文化的飞速发展，人们对更高品质的精神生活的向往与需求与日俱增，越来越多的人正在走进音乐厅，走近室内乐。每年来自世界各国的演奏家们在中国数个音乐厅聚首一堂，为听众们演奏浩如烟海般音乐文献中著名的、极富个人魅力的、多元化的曲目。室内乐艺术正逐步深化其独特的魅力，不仅仅促进了国内外优秀音乐家的互动, 更进一步促进我国与国际音乐文化的广泛交流。

As the essence of European classical music, the art of all-inclusive chamber music boasts rich contents, diversified ensembles and flexibility in order to demonstrate the essence of cultures of all countries and nationalities in the world to the maximum extent. Along with the rapid development of China in economy and culture, the people's yearn and demand for higher quality spiritual life are steadily increasing. More and more people are entering concert halls and getting close to chamber music. Every year, performers from all over the world gather together in a number of concert halls of China to perform well-known, charismatic and diversified programs of chamber music classics for audiences. As its unique charm is deepened, chamber music not only promotes the interaction among excellent musicians at home and abroad but also further facilitates the wide-ranging exchange between Chinese and international musical cultures.

　　“中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节”曾先后获得波兰共和国大使馆、法国驻华大使馆、韩国大使馆、法国文化传媒部、法国弗兰西斯?孔泰大区会议文化局、法国文化中心、德国大使馆、CCTV音乐频道、北京青年周刊、波兰密茨凯维奇学院、钢琴艺术杂志、中国广播交响乐团、欧文风范、天裕风范文化公司、漫步者音乐家基金会、中国交响乐基金会、欧美同学会、库克音乐、北京中央音乐学院教育基金会与中山音乐堂等机构的大力支持。相关活动被《北京青年报》、《人民音乐》、《钢琴艺术》等杂志多次报道，CCTV音乐频道也曾多次转播相关音乐会盛况。曾出版“2010年第三届中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节演出精粹——永恒的难忘之夜”(2DVD)、“第八届中央音乐学院国际室内乐音乐节闭幕式音乐会”（DVD）。

The "CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" has successively received the energetic support from such institutions as the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the French Embassy in China, the South Korean Embassy, the Ministry of French Culture and Communication (Le Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication), Franche-Comté Bureau of Meeting and Culture, French Cultural Centre, the German Embassy, CCTV Music Channel, Beijing Youth Weekly, Adam Mickiewicz Institute (Poland), Piano Artistry, China Radio Symphony Orchestra, Envy Fine Art, Vinotache Culture Company, Edifier Musician Foundation, The China Symphony Development Foundation, Western Returned Scholars Association, KUKE music, Education Foundation of Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing and Forbidden City Concert Hall, etc. Relevant activities have been reported for publications by Beijing Youth Daily, People's Music, Piano Artistry and other magazines, and CCTV music channel also rebroadcast the relevant music events for times. "An Eternal Night to Remember (2DVD) - the "Performance Collection of2010 Third CCOM International Chamber Music Festival" has also been published.

The classics of art last forever. The chamber music art can last for one hundred years till present just because it is always shining for its unique flavor of humanism and spiritual connotation. We sincerely hope to inherit the artistic essence of chamber music, continuously innovate and carry it forward in order to make more people know, approach, understand and love chamber music. We also hope that the performance and popularity of chamber music can endow the ever growing body of music lovers with a vigorous music life.
